Aamir Khan's
much-anticipated film, Sitaare
Zameen Par, is off to a roaring start at the box office,
showing impressive growth over its opening weekend.
The sports
comedy-drama, a sequel to the beloved "Taare Zameen Par," struck a
chord with audiences, particularly in family circles. This translated directly into
strong ticket sales, especially on Sunday.
Here's
the box office breakdown for the first three days:
1.
Opening Day (Friday, June 21): ₹10.7 crore
net.
2.
Day 2 (Saturday, June 22): Showed a
massive jump, collecting ₹20.2 crore net – an impressive 85.98% growth from
Friday.
3.
Day 3 (Sunday, June 23): Earnings surged further by 44.65% over
Saturday, raking in a whopping ₹29.22
crore net.
This
brings the total domestic box office collection for the opening weekend to a
solid ₹60.12 crore net.
The film's
success was driven by high
occupancy rates, particularly for its Hindi screenings, which
hit 50.70% on
Sunday. The Tamil version saw 41.59% occupancy,
and the Telugu version 21.92%.
Produced
by Aamir Khan Productions and directed by RS Prasanna, the film stars Aamir
Khan alongside Genelia Deshmukh, Brijendra Kala, and Dolly Ahluwalia.

analyst Taran Adarsh highlighted the film's exceptional performance, stating:
