The moment occurred when stage cameras panned over the audience – a nod to Coldplay’s recent controversy where their kiss cam inadvertently spotlighted Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and colleague Kristin Cabot in an intimate embrace during a Massachusetts show. Footage of Byron and Cabot amassed over 12 million views globally and fueled speculation about an extramarital affair, culminating in Byron’s resignation days later.

Rahman’s quip drew roaring laughter from the 20,000-strong crowd. Concert attendee Priya Sharma, 29, told The Hindu: "His timing was perfect – it diffused tension while acknowledging pop culture."

Music critic David Chen noted Rahman’s tact: "Unlike Coldplay’s Chris Martin, who amplified the awkwardness with an onstage remark, Rahman used wit without humiliation. It reflects his signature grace."

Coldplay’s July 15 incident sparked debates about concert privacy and "kiss cam" ethics. Legal analyst Meera Khanna stated: "Public venues carry inherent visibility risks, but intentional shaming crosses ethical lines."

Rahman continues his North American tour through October before performances in London and Mumbai. Neither Coldplay nor Astronomer has issued further statements.
