NEW DELHI—In a major boost for pilgrim connectivity and regional development, Northern Railways has secured approval for the Final Location Survey (FLS) of a new 77.96-km direct rail line linking Jammu to Mata Vaishno Devi Katra.

The Ministry of Railways sanctioned the critical survey with an allocation of ₹12.59 crore (₹12,59,17,363) to blueprint this strategic corridor. Northern Railways will execute the groundwork, paving the way for future construction of this high-priority link.
